Changes to How You Request Appointments – From 30th September

Posted on:

From 30th September, there will be a change to how routine appointments are requested. All appointment requests should now be made using the link can be found in the blue banner on the homepage of the website.

Requests for on-the-day appointments and admin queries will continue to be made this way, but you will notice a change of how it looks and some of the questions you are asked.

Every request will be reviewed by our team, who will decide when you should be seen and which type of clinician is most appropriate to help you. If you are offered an appointment, this may be with a Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Care Practitioner, or GP.

Depending on your clinical need, you may:

  • Be seen or speak to someone on the same day
  • Be offered a routine appointment at a later date
  • Be signposted to another healthcare provider (e.g. pharmacy, physiotherapist)
  • Be provided with self-care advice or information

This new process ensures that appointments are allocated based on clinical need, rather than who can get through first on the phones, helping you receive the right care, at the right time, with the right professional.
